She is missed by so many. It doesnt matter if I have seen one or not I will watch it again and always learn something! I read the first book and would love to read (own) the second. She instilled confidence to boldly go forward and not fear a project, whatever it might be. Thank you, Nancy. I will always admire her. Im 77 and have been sewing since I was 5. From the mid 1980s, Wisconsin Public Television in Madison, Wisconsin was Nancys partner in television production with Laurie Gorman serving as the director for the past 19 years. Zieman lived in Beaver Dam, Wisconsin with her husband. Zieman was diagnosed with osteosarcoma, a type of bone cancer, in March of 2015. I watched Nancys tv shows for many years and was always inspired by her. Thank you she is missed. Certainly Nancy is in a league of her own with so many accomplishments achieved yet staying the sincere, generous person to the end. Ipshe was so easy to watch and you just seemed to be right there with her one on one. A good deal of the book was about Nancy and her husband building up Nancy's Notions. I really have no idea how long I watched Nancys show. Looking forward to reading Richards book next. Although I originally learned to sew from family members, Nancys style was always to show potential new ways of doing things without judgment. I have been sewing since I was a child and now sew with a couple of groups of women, for missions. I miss those days of Sewing with Nancy. I wish her husband and family all the best we are all truly blessed for having shared in her life. I caught my love of sewing from my mother and spent many happy summers sewing with her during my teenage years. I will always be grateful for her touching my life. She made sewing so much easier and relaxing for me. Nancy was a great inspiration to me and a wonderful teacher. I too have been a teacher all my life. It would be a huge honor to win this giveaway. I have loved her ideas and generosity of spirit. i was privileged to attend Pfaff conventions years ago when Nancy was an ambassador for Pfaff. I enjoyed watching her PBS show. I am a family and consumer science teacher with 38 years experience. Over the years I watched many episodes of Sewing with Nancy and enjoyed every one of them. We lost a good teacher, friend, and wonderful person when Nancy passed away. I truly loved Nancys book Seams Unlikely. Her programs, with ideas and methods to make them, was a mecca for me during the busy days of raising 3 boistrous boys and a sweet little girl who followed in their tracks always. I loved watching Nancys programs from the beginning. I own nearly every tool from Nancy as well as many books. So happy to return to Illinois so I could watch her shows. Ive collected a nice library of sewing books with the vast majority being written by Nancy. I have TiVod her show and I refer back to it quite often. To this day, when I encounter a challenge while creating a garment, I go to Nancys videos online. I am a nurse and for many years was unable to do much sewing but Nancy always inspired me to keep trying to find 10 minutes of sewing. She is missed! This is one book that I really want to read. Nancy not only sewed with talent; she left a legacy to her family of strong principles and life is more hopeful, living is more worthwhile because of her very visible love for her family and close friends. I have missed you and will forever miss you. I have realized the last few years how many sewing tips I use everyday, that I learned from Nancy. I won many championships in 4-H. This one is much lighter and easier for me when I take it with me for these sewing groups and it has just the basic stitches I need for sewing quilts, pillowcases, Cancer hats, and bags for beads for children undergoing chemo. She was a very impressive woman and the book will help motivate you to find your niche in life, work hard, and follow your dreams. I learned so much from her. What a lady & yes, Ive shed some tears over her passing way too soon! Nancy was an entrepreneur, a talented television host, a Im a much more accomplished seamstress because of her wonderful instruction. Learned many things from her and also found many quilt patterns to make from her show. This is the first Ive heard of it. She was an inspiration to all & overcame so many challenges with her health. With Nancys help, I was able to do some of them. I met her at sewing expos and loved her humor when she did live shows at the Sewing Weekend in Beaver Dam. Nancy was close to my age so her life and journey seemed similar in some ways. I was shocked to learn of her illness and amazed at how she kept on as if she had so much more to share. Nancy was a personal friend to me (or so it seemed). She truly was a great woman! This was in 2015 in King of Prussia PA. She was so gracious to all of us and even sign her first book for me.
